Meetings:

11/4/18

Three weeks are left before the deadline and the stress has begun to raise its head. Its apparent in all the 5 members attending, myself included. Although I am proud to see that instead of panicking and submitting to the pressure, everyone is raising their work effort and trying their best to meet the deadline head-on.

The table dimensions was posted today for the MCM table which is 2 x 6 foot. In the following weeks we will discuss the presentation method and display ideas for the table. We also discussed the possibility of business cards and other merchandise for our group. Millie is still waiting on  response from her father on the car arrangements, which means there is a halt in buying train tickets for the moment.

MCM has rather strict rules against fanart if you are not behind a dealers table so original artworks will be required, weather it is comic influenced or not is another matter entirely and a personal decision. Again the banner was discussed, but we came to the consensus that w have enough work to do with the module, so we will continue to design it after the deadline.

Current Progress:

Millie: She has fallen a little behind when updating the blog, sketch book but her comic is coming along well. She is also working away at at her sketch book and fanart ready for the Sunday Stoke-Con.

Josh: He is still working on inking his comic, though his blog and work for Stoke-Con is coming along nicely.

Jasmine: She is going to work on her pages throughout the final weeks towards the deadline. She has also made progress on her stickers for Stoke-Con.

Myself: I am mainly just updating the blog at this point, most of my work has been completed.

Sarah: She achieved her Easter goals of completing her twelve pages. She has kept her blog up to date and is still working on bits and pieces ready for Stoke-Con.

Vicky: Absent.

18/4/18

As it was finally a day that was worthy of the label summer, we decided to go on a picnic, as all members (excluding Vicky) where in attending it was the perfect place for a meeting. We discussed the declining trend of posts on social media, most people forgetting due to the high pressures of work that was being demanded of them. But we made another resolution to try and make more of an effort to post.

The next topic was feedback on Stoke-Con. Although we decided to take it as a positive experience, it is widely agreed (even with people outside the group) that the turn out was pretty poor and our placement was appalling. As it wasn't my first convention it didn't knock my confidence, however many people seemed to be annoyed with the amount I made.

Current Progress:

Millie: She only has nine ages left, as well as the back cover. Her sketchbook and blog has fallen slightly behind.

Myself: All my comic work is completed, only the back  cover needs touching up and blog work to be continued.

Josh: He has two pages left to complete, after which he only has to do the text and the blog to complete.

Jasmine: she is working on line arting and pencilling her work on photoshop. She will continue to work at a steady pace over the next two weeks.

Sarah: She is working on the last nine pages of her comic. She wants to complete her comic by the end of this week.

25/4/18

Despite the discussion last week, the social media has still declined. Despite this our following hasn't decreased any noticeable amount, nor effected the response we get on it. Reminders on our phones have been set and with any luck people will remember to post it. The next subject was what would be the arrangements for London MCM. We will be working in groups of two, in three different shifts: Morning, Afternoon and Evening.

Current Progress:

Millie: Everything is starting to come along nicely, she is on top of her work and will continue in her way through out the remaining weeks.

Josh: The comic has been completed both the comic and sketchbook and is updating his blog. He does need to do the InDesign for his comic.

Jasmine: Inking has been completed, and is currently grey-scaling her comic. She does need to work on her blog.

Myself: I have completed my sketch book excluding one page, and only a couple of posts left to do on the blog.

Sarah: She has two more pages to line art which she is trying to complete in the next 2 days. She is reasonably happy with the blog but will still continue to post her development.

It was a positive meeting and we discussed on some subjects which did need to be brought up.

5/2/18

This is the last meeting before the deadline so we kept it reasonably short. We discussed what we would be posting on social media. Examples being stickers, A5 prints, keyrings or badages. This should help bring up the hype leading toward the comic con. We also touched upon train tickets and what we times we would need to travel. We decided that the two on the morning shift would head in early getting the On Peak trains, whilst the others will head into London slightly later on an Off Peak train.

Current Progress:

Josh: Completed his work.

Myself: Completed my work.

Jasmine: Working on the final couple pages, text and script. She still has to do a couple things on her blog and sketchbook.

Millie: She has five pages left and has to add text. The script still needs to be done, but she has updated her blog.

Sarah: She has her cover to complete then to combine it all on InDesign.

For a final meeting it went without hitch, everyone was reasonably calm, and elieved they couldfinish what they had left to do for the comic and deadline as a whole.

Bone Rank System

I thought, since it is quite prominent in my story, that i would delve into the Korean Silla Dynasty's bone rank system  to get a clear understanding of just what it means. The Bone Rank System, so called because it was based on a person’s hereditary bloodline, was introduced as part of a new law  in 520 CE by king Beophung. However,  GolPum system was technically abolished with the fall of Unified Silla in 935. This is the simplest diagram I could find which explained the kind of standing that people had, and how it corroborated with their title. First of, a Sunggol or 'Sacred Bone' They have to be directly related to royalty on BOTH sides of their parents. Up until King Muyeol, only a Sunggol could ascend to the throne. It was due to the lack of an adequate male Sunggol which made it possible for both Queen Seon Duk and Queen Jindeok to ascend to the throne. They were the last of the Sunggols. Jingol 진골 also known as “True Bone” refers to someone who was dire

Front Cover

Designing my front cover! Using Medibang as the main source for adding colour, I am beyond pleased with the outcome. Using one of my perspective drawings of the shrine I designed, I chose an area I wanted it to be situated. I want to include the three main characters, but not the extra's s of yet, i want them to remain in the story alone. I went through the roughest sketch through to line art and colour all digitally. I had this idea for the cover since the beginning and finally getting to draw it is exciting. For the rough sketch I used Clip Studio Paint EX, Line art was Paint Tool SAI, Colouring was Medi Band and the final effects where added with Photoshop CS6. I am really pleased with the final outcome, it is quite brightly coloured and at an interesting angled, but isn't too busy or overwhelming. I think the composition is just about right in terms of balance, and quite effective with the sunset backdrop. For the title the disjointed font is qui
